Emeco has been designing and fabricating their chairs from 80% recycled aluminum since 1944.  This typically costs just 1/17th the energy density of chairs made from virgin aluminum!  Materials and processes range from recycled polypropylene to hand-welded recycled aluminum, to 8 + hour polished metal and wood.  Prices range from very reasonable all the way up to “outta my range”.
