A few months ago we were doing last minute shopping for a backyard spring dinner party for our David’s birthday. For the table setting we looked at second-hand vases for our flowers at Goodwill… there were too many random designs without matching pairs. So we went to Cost Plus – and I knew we would have to suck it up and get some imported vases.
Much to my surprise they had Ball Mason jars in the kitchen section… PERFECT!! Not only are they a great value, but they will last forever, we can drink iced tea out of them, and Grandma can even use them for her vegetables and fruits! They cost as much as what Goodwill was charging for the alternatives.

We bought our set at Costco for a great price, and two years they are still going strong. Some of the lids have small “escape hatches” for reaching in to grab a few – great for pita chips!
